Upcoming Visual Politics Event: Jelena Subotić on The Politics of Looted Art

Please join us this Wednesday in person or online for our second Visual Politics event held out of Stockholm.

Prof Jelena Subotić will discuss her amazing new book The Art of Status: Looted Treasures and the Global Politics of Restitution (OUP 2025).  It is a fascinating exploration of the role that looted art plays in the quest of states for prestige, status and power.  It is one of those rare books that one reads and then looks at the world differently.

Alexandra Brankova and I will interview Jelena via video from the US, but you can join us either online or in person.  Further details are here:

Wed 7 October 4-5pm CEST (UTC+2)
