I decided to write a short blog summary of Emma’s “ritual essay,” on which she passionately worked as long as she possibly could and which is now formally published posthumously in Vol 18 No 2 of International Theory.
I tried my best to complete the essay how Emma had envisaged it: by showing that discomfort is key to understanding how rituals not only entrench order - as is well recognised - but also generate political change.
